Discover BC through the eyes of its locals! Each week we #exploreBC through a different Instagrammer who shares their favourite local spots and experiences.
“Only a short 45-minute ferry ride from West Vancouver, this paradise is the perfect weekend escape from the big city!”
“Due to the mild coastal temperatures, snow run-off keeps waterfalls pumping throughout the winter season! This photo was taken in Cliff Gilker Park and features one of the many falls to be explored on the Sunshine Coast.”
“If you arrive or depart the Sunshine Coast from Langdale, make sure to check out Soames Hill! An hour round trip should leave you plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent view from above. Sunsets are recommended.”
“Feeling adventurous? Tetrahedron Provincial Park offers both single and multi day snowshoe opportunities with ‘million-star’ accommodation. Enjoy towering mountain peaks, spectacular views, and starry nights… did I mention the cabins are stocked with firewood throughout winter?”
“Remember I mentioned towering mountain peaks and spectacular views from Tetrahedron Provincial Park? I wasn’t lying. This picture was taken from the Mount Steele summit, which offers views of the coastal mountain ranges, the Lower Mainland, the Malaspina Strait, and of course the Sunshine Coast!”
“Peaceful waters make for an incredible sunset. As long as you’re dressed for the occasion, an evening canoe can be enjoyed year round on the Sunshine Coast.”
“Don’t forget about the Sunshine Coast in the summer either, it’s completely different but just as spectacular! This Orca enjoyed his visit, I think you will too!”
Dolf Vermeulen began photography just three years ago and is now completely hooked! Although he loves to travel all around the world, there is no place he would rather call home than BC’s Sunshine Coast. One of his favourite aspects about his new-found hobby is the motivation it creates to get out of the house and #exploreBC whenever the opportunity presents itself.
