Discover BC through the eyes of its locals and visitors! Each week we #exploreBC with different Instagrammers who share their favourite places and experiences.
“I’ve been going to Fort Steele since I was a kid. Wandering around the old buildings is like getting lost in history. Here an actress in an outdoor play gets caught in a gust of wind, one of my favourite images from the summer.”
“A meandering river to Columbia Lake is one of the best places to cool off after a hot day in the Rocky Mountain trench.”
“The diversity of light in the Rocky Mountains near Kimberley never ceases to amaze me. Here The Steeples look particularly impressive early one morning last summer.”
Kari grew up in a cabin in Northern BC. His parents drove a ’73 Ford Bronco, wore rubber boots and made him go cross-country skiing. They also had matching Nikon FEs and used them to photograph wild mushrooms and other fungi of the boreal forest. Kari inherited the cameras and started making his own pictures.
Kari is especially comfortable in snowy places, steep or flat. He has a penchant for 120 film, drinks two coffees a day and relates well to folks with beards. He now lives with his partner Emily in Nelson, BC.
