It’s no surprise the staff at Destination British Columbia love BC. So we figured it was time to introduce them. Starting every week, we’ll feature one of our staff members who will share their favourite places and spaces in BC.
This week’s featured staff member is: Dana Wagner, Front Desk and Administration
What’s your favourite BC summer vacation and why?
My favorite and most memorable BC summer vacation was at the Canadian Princess Resort, in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. I booked a surprise fishing adventure for my husband’s birthday and what a great outdoor fishing experience it was. We continue to enjoy the great fish stories and stunning landscape of Vancouver Island’s west coast. The expert guides took us to where the big fish were biting and I was all smiles to land my first salmon!
Which BC place do you think is a hidden gem (undiscovered, underrated, etc.)?
A true hidden gem for all ages to enjoy is Osprey Village, located in the heart of a new community in Pitt Meadows. I enjoy sitting on the park bench sketching and strolling the Pitt Meadows dyke trails, which have an amazing view of the Fraser River. The Stomping Grounds Café offers a great cup of java, smoothies and more. The dog park is always a delight and a laugh. I like to watch all of the small paws run around.
What’s your favourite BC winter vacation and why?
My favorite BC winter vacation is with friends and family enjoying Whistler Blackcomb. My most recent experience was a two day Roxy Ski Camp. What a fun and truly memorable weekend. I can ski! It was a great learning experience and a perfect way to see and enjoy the majestic mountains in BC.
