Facebook Crossposting 101: Share Your Video

Want to get more views, reach and engagement on your Facebook videos? Take advantage of Facebook’s Crossposting feature. Crossposting is a way to share your videos across multiple Facebook Pages and allows industry partners (DMOs, sector organizations etc.) to share your videos with their followers.

Here is how to get started:

Step 1

Find the crossposting function in your Facebook settings. To do this, you will need to be an administrator for your page.

Ensure the Crossposting function option is selected

Step 2

Add the pages where you would like to crosspost your videos. For example, to crosspost with Destination BC’s pages add the following: HelloBC, and HelloBC.MX.

To Crosspost, add the name or Facebook URL in to the Add Page field.

Step 3

Once you have an established crossposting relationship with an organization, every time you upload a new video, under the publishing tab you must turn on “allow other pages to post” and choose which pages you wish to crosspost with. In the Destination BC example, this would mean searching and clicking “on” both pages noted above. This gives Destination BC the opportunity to share your video.

Tip: You can retroactively turn on crossposting for older videos that have not been boosted, by clicking on “Edit Video” in the post. Once boosted you cannot retroactively make any changes.

Be sure to click "on" next to the "Allow other Pages to post" field.

Step 4

Browse new videos available to you from your crossposting partners in the Content Library within the Creator Studio. Share those videos if they are relevant to your business.

The Content Library shows videos that you can crosspost.

Benefits include:

  • You no longer have to email videos back and forth with other organizations in order to share content;
  • If you upload a video to Facebook, it’s easier for industry partners to share on their Facebook Page, such as on Destination BC’s HelloBC Facebook Page;
  • If shared, your videos will receive more overall views, engagement and reach, as the metrics are consolidated;
  • You can change the caption if sharing a partner’s video on your Facebook Page; and,
  • You can get access to more videos to share on your page.
