The Destination BC (DBC) Co-operative Marketing Partnership Program (Co-op Program) is an application-based program that provides co-operative, consumer-focused marketing and promotional support to Community Consortiums, Sector Organizations and/or pre-approved individual and Paired Communities in British Columbia.
The program has always been designed to facilitate collaboration: the Co-op Program encourages partnerships between sectors and communities to achieve common marketing goals and leverage funding to maximize marketing efforts.
*Note: applications to the program’s 2024/25 funding cycle have now closed.
The Co-op Program enables Community Consortiums and Provincial Tourism Product/ Experience Sector Organizations that share common marketing goals to access private and public funds and achieve greater marketing impact and revenue.
The Co-op Program was developed in 2015 based on recommendations from a cross-section of stakeholders and Destination BC’s Tourism Marketing Committee — an industry-based advisory committee with representatives from all regions across BC. Input for the program was also provided by participants from over 20 community consultation sessions across the province.
Over the past 9 years, Destination BC’s Co-op program has experienced continuous growth and evolution, nurtured our strategic partnerships and fostered collaborative efforts in the tourism industry.
The Co-op Program is designed around two funding pools:
