Last month, our Travel Media Relations team organized and led a “Ski to Surf” trip on Vancouver Island, travelling from the peaks of Mount Washington to the beaches of Tofino for surfing and storm watching. Outlets represented included Sydney Morning Herald (AUS), Roadtrippers, Gear Junkie and REI.

Another trip earlier this year, “Push Yourself on the Powder Highway”, focused on new and expanded terrain catering to intermediate skiers at Revelstoke Mountain Resort and RED Mountain Resort. Outlets represented included Thrillist, News Corp Escape (AUS), Fodor’s and Texas Lifestyle Magazine.

An example of coverage includes this excellent piece in the LA Times’ article: Ski and surf on the same day. But in Canada? Yes.

Press or Familiarization Trips (FAMs) form just one part of our well-developed travel media program. Working with journalists, freelance writers, social influencers, editors, and broadcasters on travel-focused stories to build destination awareness in our top markets means research, travel planning, image sourcing, interview contacts, filming, and much more for our dedicated Travel Media Specialists.

A good example of this behind-the-scenes work is seen in Sunset Magazine’s Jan/Feb 2020 cover shot, which is of Harrison Hot Springs, the result of our team image sourcing and working with magazine editors to put British Columbia front and centre.

Read on for samples of exciting global media coverage earned as a result of the team’s dedication to spreading awareness of BC as a must-visit-now travel destination, from outlets including Conde Nast Traveler, Mountain Life, Lonely Planet, The Globe & Mail, STYLE Magazine, Eat North, Men’s Journal, Outside Online, Vancouver Sun, BC Magazine, Vanity Fair, Freeskier, CBC Radio, BCAA Magazine.
