Vancouver, Coast & Mountains Tourism Resiliency Program

In the midst of this global pandemic, our province is adjusting to a new normal, and we know that the immediate impacts of COVID-19 are being felt by tourism businesses across British Columbia. As entrepreneurs try to figure out their own unique path forward, tourism businesses in BC identified the need for support to help navigate the range of resources and options available to our industry.

Together with the other five tourism regions, Destination BC, and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture with support from go2HR, Indigenous Tourism BC, the Tourism Industry Association of BC, and Community DMOs, we are activating the BC Tourism Resiliency Network to provide BC tourism businesses with meaningful, one-on-one support to navigate government resources and expert advice, and work towards eventual recovery.

Our role in managing the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains (VCM) region has always been to work collaboratively with partners, and to connect industry to the various programs available through Destination BC and others, and our work on this program further supports our commitment to the VCM region.

Through this program, tourism businesses will be paired with a Program Advisor in their own region who will provide guidance through their journey to long-term resiliency. There is also a digital resource hub with recorded webinars, information bulletins, and additional resources specific to the needs of BC’s tourism businesses.

Vancouver, Coast & Mountains (VCM) regional representatives work collaboratively with partners throughout the region, to connect industry to various programs available through Destination BC.Destination BC also provides professional development and networking opportunities throughout the year for VCM partners via community and industry forums, sector marketing meetings, workshops, and stakeholder outreach.
