Call for Content: BC’s Bounty, a Celebration of Food and Drink Inspired by the Fall Season

This past year has taught us the importance of supporting local businesses. Now, with BC’s COVID-19 Immunization Plan well underway, and a new fall season just around the corner, our appetite is primed to keep exploring by venturing out and rediscovering the season anew—starting with our palette.

From sweet pies and preserves, to creamy ales, and smooth red wines, the fall season calls to us to slow down and savour fall flavours in special places. Starting September 21, we will be sharing content on Destination BC’s consumer channels that celebrates the deliciousness of BC’s fall bounty. We want to encourage residents to continue supporting local by showing them unique ways in which communities all across the province mark this special—and delicious—time of year, in an effort to encourage shoulder season travel and bookings for locals and visitors alike. Help us build a scrumptious image of BC this fall for the HelloBC BC Bounty article and content collection.

Here’s how:

Let us know if your community or region has created or will be creating any web content that promotes fall food and drink experiences. Please ensure that content features providers and businesses that are currently open and follow current public health orders. As always, DBC will only feature businesses that comply with BC’s latest health and safety orders.

This could be in the form of:

  • a local food itinerary
  • a feature on a local proprietor in the food and drink space
  • a fall food guide for your community
  • a roundup of fall harvest events for your community

For members of the BC Story Network, consider repurposing an existing story into an AMP or create new AMPs.

Tag AMPs with the Theme “Fall,” the Campaign “Recovery,” and specifically, with one or more of these additional tags so we may break them out into individual galleries under the main theme:

  • Breweries, Cideries & Distilleries
  • Dining & Culinary Tours
  • Farms & Markets
  • Food & Drink Events
  • Food, Drink & Wellness
  • Wineries & Wine Tours

Here is a great example.

If you use CrowdRiff as part of the UGC Partnership Network, encourage local businesses and partners to upload assets to CrowdRiff Collector, featuring local residents and visitors enjoying BC’s fall harvest season for inclusion in curated UGC galleries that can be embedded on websites, consumer emails, and social channels.

Please ensure you continue to tag @helloBC on Instagram and use the hashtag #exploreBC so that we may consider your content for amplification.

Send content to [email protected] with “BC Bounty” in the subject line so we can fold it into our content planning and distribution, starting in September.

We look forward to collaborating on this effort!
